Manila, Dec. 24 -- The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) is continuing to carry out maritime safety measures and inspections across ports nationwide as part of its Oplan Biyaheng Ayos: Pasko 2025.
As of Dec. 23, the PCG has inspected a total of 2,229 vessels and 2,000 motor bancas and monitored about 266,554 outbound and 233,670 inbound passengers in all ports going to and from the provinces.
The PCG is on heightened alert since Dec. 20 until Jan. 4 next year as passenger influx is expected in various ports.
Sea passengers are reminded to arrive early at ports, adhere to safety protocols, wear life jackets when required, and avoid boarding vessels that are overloaded or lack proper safety equipment.
