MANILA, May 14 -- The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has monitored around 350,000 maritime passengers in all ports nationwide the day after the midterm elections.

In a situation report on Wednesday, the PCG said a total of 190,115 outbound passengers and 159,551 inbound passengers were logged on Tuesday, in addition to the inspection of 1,461 vessels and 1,405 motor bancas.

"Compared to the consolidated report [on Monday], the number of outbound passengers has decreased by 44,073 (30 percent), while the number of inbound passengers has also decreased by 24,173 (18 percent)," it said.

On the other hand, there was an increase of 128 (10 percent) inspected vessels and a decrease of 106 (7 percent) inspected motor bancas.
