Manila, Feb. 19 -- The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) lauded the Norway-flagged ship MV Sunny Victory after it rescued a stranded Filipino fisherman west of Calavite Point in Mindoro on Monday.
In a statement on Wednesday, the PCG said the fisherman, 35-year-old Michael Conquesto, was fishing on a small vessel at around 4 a.m. when the boat encountered engine failure and lost contact with his mother boat, FB Anton Char.
Conquesto was stranded and adrift until MV Sunny Victory spotted his distress call and came to his aid.
