Manila, Jan. 6 -- President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. will not intervene in any move to file an impeachment complaint against Vice President Sara Duterte, Malacanang said Tuesday.

Speaking to reporters, Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said the filing of an impeachment complaint by any group is beyond the President's mandate.

"Ang pagsasampa po ng impeachment complaint ng anumang grupo ay hindi po ito sakop ng Pangulo (The filing of an impeachment complaint by any group is not under the President's authority)," Castro said.

She added that the bid to impeach Duterte has not been discussed in any meeting convened by Marcos.
