Manila, Jan. 14 -- President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has expressed excitement over the planned investment of a Dubai-based firm to establish what is set to be the biggest data center in the Philippines, viewing it as an opportunity to position the country as an emerging data center hub in the region.

This came after Marcos met with top executives of DAMAC Digital at the Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday to discuss the company's planned investments in the Philippines, including the establishment of a data center in Laguna.

Marcos, accompanied by several Cabinet secretaries, met with DAMAC officials led by company founder and chairperson Hussain Sajwani.
