Manila, July 24 -- President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Thursday visited families displaced by massive flooding in San Mateo, Rizal.

During his visit to the Maly Elementary School in San Mateo town, Marcos checked on the condition of the residents temporarily seeking shelter at the evacuation site.

A total of 3,899 families, or 14,390 individuals, in San Mateo, Rizal have been affected by the onslaught of Severe Tropical Storm Crising (international name Wipha) and the enhanced southwest monsoon or "habagat."

About 546 families, or 2,102 individuals, are currently at the Maly Elementary School, as some areas in San Mateo were submerged in floods brought by continuous rains.
