Manila, March 4 -- President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has terminated the appointment of Presidential Security Command (PSC) Commander Maj. Gen. Jesus Nelson Morales, Malacanang announced on Tuesday.

Palace Press Officer and Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary Claire Castro confirmed to Palace reporters the termination of Morales' designation as PSC head starting Tuesday.

Castro said Morales will be replaced by Brig. Gen. Peter Burgonio, who will serve as acting PSC commander on the same day Morales was terminated.

Morales served as head of the PSC in 2023.

Also in 2023, Marcos tapped Burgonio as the commander of the Philippine Army's Army Intelligence Regiment.
