MANILA, Feb. 29 -- President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has appointed lawyer Rogelio Quevedo as commissioner of the Presidential Commission on Good Government (PCGG), Malacanang announced Thursday.

Quevedo's appointment was announced by the Presidential Communications Office in a Facebook post.

Before his new appointment, Quevedo served as the government corporate counsel whose primary duty was to safeguard the legal interests of government-owned or -controlled corporations.

The PCGG, which is under the Department of Justice's (DOJ) supervision, serves as the anti-corruption agency. It is designated to investigate graft and corruption cases of public officials and institute measures to prevent unlawful practices in government.
