MANILA, Dec. 5 -- President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has appointed lawyer Angelito Magno as acting director of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).

Malacanang on Friday released a copy of Magno's appointment paper, which was signed by Marcos on Wednesday.

In October, Magno was named the agency's officer in charge after the resignation of NBI director Jaime Santiago.

Magno, a seasoned investigator, has devoted more than three decades of service to the NBI, beginning as a project worker in 1991.

He rose through the ranks as special investigator, investigation agent, head agent, regional director, and assistant director.
