Manila, July 26 -- President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. went to Navotas City on Saturday to inspect the damaged Tangos-Tanza (Malabon-Navotas) Navigational Gate and the Tanza National High School, which serves as a temporary shelter for displaced residents.

Marcos assessed the Tangos-Tanza Navigational Gate, a 30-year-old infrastructure that is a critical barrier against high tide and flooding.

He was accompanied by Navotas City Rep. Toby Tiangco and Navotas City Mayor John Rey Tiangco during the inspection.

The aging flood gate, currently under repair, plays a crucial role in controlling the water level of the Navotas River.
