Manila, Jan. 28 -- President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Wednesday said his son, House Majority Leader Ferdinand Alexander "Sandro" Marcos, acted properly when he recused himself from all impeachment proceedings against him.

In a video released by the Presidential Communications Office, Marcos said he learned about Sandro's move from the news and not directly from his son.

Marcos expressed support for his son's decision, citing Sandro's natural bias to him.

"That is very proper dahil (because) I am his father and, syempre meron siyang (of course, he has a) bias for me," Marcos said.

Marcos emphasized that the inhibition ensures the impartiality and credibility of the proceedings.
