MANILA, Jan. 31 -- President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Friday rejected the call of his former executive secretary, lawyer Vic Rodriguez, to undergo a hair follicle drug test.
"No. Why should I do that? What is he saying public trust, public office. Public office has nothing to do with the follicle test," Marcos told reporters in Pasay City.
Marcos made the statement, in response to Rodriguez's renewed call for him to undergo a hair follicle drug test, citing the constitutional principle that "public office is a public trust."
Marcos slammed Rodriguez for making such a call, saying the former Palace official would have not worked with him had he believed that he was an illegal drug user.
