Manila, Feb. 17 -- President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Tuesday joined Filipinos in welcoming the Year of the Fire Horse, urging the public to pair optimism with discipline and purposeful action to sustain the country's growth.

In his message for the Lunar New Year, Marcos said the Horse symbolizes "movement, courage, and forward motion," while the Fire element represents energy and drive.
