Manila, Feb. 13 -- President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Friday said the Metro Manila Subway Project (MMSP) is seen as a "sustainable and long-term" solution to address traffic congestion in the country's metropolis.

Marcos made the statement as he led the inspection of the MMSP-Shaw Boulevard Station in Pasig City and the groundbreaking of two MMSP underground stations in Taguig City.

"For decades, traffic in Metro Manila has been more than an inconvenience. It has been a constant consideration affecting our daily decisions. It influences where we work, where we study, and how we plan our lives," he said during the groundbreaking ceremony.
