Manila, March 10 -- The local government units (LGU) of Malasiqui and San Fabian towns have ordered the implementation of modular distance learning in the afternoon classes in all public schools due to high heat index, while Asingan town LGU has ordered automatic cancellation with temperature above 40 degrees Celsius.

Malasiqui Mayor Noel Anthony Geslani issued an executive order mandating public schools to conduct face-to-face classes only from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m., shifting to modular distance learning in the afternoon from March 10 to 14. Private schools may adopt similar policies at their discretion.

San Fabian Mayor Marlyn Agbayani issued a similar order, citing the health and safety risks posed by the high heat index.
