MANILA, Nov. 9 -- Malacanang has suspended work in government offices and classes across major regions of Luzon and Visayas as Super Typhoon Uwan (international name Fung-wong) barrels toward Aurora with destructive winds and torrential rain.
Under Memorandum Circular No. 106 issued on Sunday, government work is suspended on Monday in the National Capital Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Regions I (Ilocos Region), II (Cagayan Valley), III (Central Luzon), IV-A (Calabarzon), IV-B (Mimaropa), V (Bicol), and VIII (Eastern Visayas).
Meanwhile, classes at all levels in the aforementioned regions - as well as in Regions VI (Western Visayas), VII (Central Visayas), and the Negros Island Region - are suspended on Nov. 10 and 11.
