Manila, Feb. 3 -- Malacanang on Tuesday said it sees the potential benefits of the proposed "no work, no pay" measure for lawmakers but stressed President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. will leave the decision entirely to Congress.

Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said the President was asked about the proposal authored by House Majority Leader Sandro Marcos but emphasized that lawmaking is beyond the President's authority.

"Ang sabi lamang ng Pangulo, trabaho po 'yan ng mambabatas at hindi siya makikialam kung ito po ay maisasabatas (The President said this is the job of legislators and he will not interfere if it becomes law),' Castro said in a Palace press briefing.
