Manila, Feb. 19 -- Malacanang on Thursday denied reports claiming that Bureau of Customs (BOC) Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno would be replaced, amid confusion over a document listing his appointment date as Feb. 2, 2026, even though he officially took his oath on June 30, 2025.

"Ang kumakalat na sinasabing papalitan si Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno ay wala pong katotohanan (Reports peddled around that Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno will be replaced is not true)," Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said in a briefing.

Castro added that the disputed document will be submitted to the National Bureau of Investigation for verification.
