Manila, Oct. 22 -- Malacanang on Wednesday brushed off a "letter of sentiment" filed before the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) seeking to probe First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos' alleged ties to former special envoy to China for trade Maynard Ngu, calling the complaint baseless and irrelevant to the ICI's mandate.
Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said in a briefing that the letter, submitted by a private citizen identified as John Santander, had nothing to do with the ICI's investigation into flood control projects.
A lawyer by profession, Castro also said the letter contained "hearsay evidence" and could amount to "a fishing expedition."
