Manila, April 23 -- Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) on Wednesday named British national and airline industry executive Richard Nuttall as its new president effective May 29.

"Philippine Airlines has always been committed to working with the best people across all levels, and I welcome Richard Nuttall as a worthy addition to an already formidable team. I am confident that he will create and develop sustainable growth for PAL," Lucio Tan, chair and chief executive officer of PAL Holdings Inc., said in a statement.
