Manila, Nov. 11 -- The Philippine Air Force (PAF) said Tuesday it has deployed one of its S-70i Black Hawk helicopters to transport relief goods to communities in Eastern Visayas hit by Super Typhoon Uwan (international name Fung-wong).

"The airlift operation delivered 430 pails of hygiene kits from the Headquarters, Tactical Operations Group 8 (TOG-8) in Tacloban City to Bontoc, Southern Leyte, and Guiuan Airport, Guiuan, Eastern Samar, providing essential sanitation supplies to residents," PAF spokesperson Col. Ma. Christina Basco said in a statement.
