Manila, Nov. 6 -- A Philippine Air Force (PAF) helicopter conducted a precautionary landing in St. Bernard, Southern Leyte on Wednesday due to fluctuating temperature in one of its engines.
In a statement, PAF spokesperson Col. Ma. Christina Basco said the S-70i Black Hawk helicopter was performing Rapid Damage Assessment and Needs Analysis (RDANA) operations when its crew encountered the problem.
"All crew and passengers are safe and were assisted by local authorities," Basco said.
She noted that the S-70i Black Hawk, being a twin-engine helicopter, is designed to safely land with only one operational engine.
"The crew followed standard procedures to ensure everyone's safety," Basco said
