Manila, March 28 -- The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed a flood control project worth over PHP96 million to benefit residents of Baseco Compound in Port Area, Manila.
In a news release Friday, DPWH National Capital Region Director Loreta Malaluan reported the newly completed project with a total cost of PHP96.49 million is the fourth phase of a slope protection project that will serve as the first line of defense of the residents against river overflow and flooding.
The project which was carried out from May 2024 to January 2025 also aims to prevent soil erosion and improve water quality in the area.
