Manila, April 10 -- The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has launched its risk resiliency initiative in four Western Visayas provinces and Negros Occidental, which is now part of the Negros Island Region.
The project, with an allocation of PHP74.4 million for 2024, aims to address food insecurity and water scarcity caused by climate change and disasters.
According to Claud Jan Marquez, chief of the Disaster Response Information Management System Section, the Local Adaptation to Water Access (LAWA) and Breaking Insufficiency through Nutritious Harvest for the Impoverished (BINHI) project began in Batad, Iloilo province on April 9.
