Manila, Aug. 26 -- Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) operatives have arrested two individuals for transporting PHP3.3 million worth of assorted brands of alleged illegal cigarettes during an operation in Davao del Sur.

In a statement on Tuesday, CIDG chief Brig. Gen. Christopher Abrahano said the suspects, alias "Arnel" and "Ramer," were arrested during a law enforcement operation at the Kinuskusan Border Control Point, Bansalan, Davao del Sur on Monday.

He said the arrested suspects were caught while transporting tobacco products without the required graphic health warning labels.
