LAOAG CITY, May 20 -- A PHP20-million farm-to-market road (FMR) in Batac City, Ilocos Norte will benefit rural households of Camandingan and Baoa East that depend on farming as a major source of livelihood.

"The condition of farm-to-market is a perennial problem, especially during the rainy season," Noli Lacambra, village chief of Camandingan in Batac City, said following the provincial board's endorsement of the project on Monday.

Located around 11 kilometers from the city proper, the project will allow farmers to save on transportation costs and enable them to reach markets quickly and efficiently.
