Manila, Feb. 4 -- A newly completed PHP177 million farm-to-market road (FMR) in Magsaysay, Davao del Sur, is expected to benefit approximately 6,658 residents, the Department of Agriculture in Davao Region (DA-11) announced Tuesday.
The 8.81-kilometer FMR in Barangay Glamang, funded under the I-BUILD Component of the Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP), aims to provide easier market access for farmers and improve the quality of their produce by reducing post-harvest losses and travel time.
DA-11 Regional Director Macario Bong D. Gonzaga, who also serves as the PRDP Mindanao project director, highlighted the project's impact on the region's agricultural landscape.
