MANILA, Dec. 14 -- A buy-bust operation conducted by the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG) on Saturday netted five high-value suspects and seized PHP176 million worth of illegal drugs in Barangay Napindan, Taguig City.

The PDEG operatives seized some 25.5 kilograms (kg) of suspected shabu, 1,770 grams of suspected kush or high-grade marijuana, and 140 pieces of green self-sealing e-cigarettes/marijuana oil karts with an estimated total standard drug price of PHP176.265 million.

"This achievement reaffirms the PNP's commitment to professional, transparent, and responsive policing," acting PNP chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said in a statement Sunday.
