Manila, Oct. 6 -- The city government of Manila on Monday reported that it has collected some PHP160 million in taxes from contractors involved in flood control projects in the city.
During the bimonthly Kapihan ng Samahang Plaridel forum at the Rizal Park Hotel, Mayor Isko Moreno said this was after they issued a stern reminder to the contractors about their tax obligations.
"You may belittle us but mind you, we guarantee you, kahit saan sulok kayo ng Pilipinas (no matter where you are in the Philippines), we will file cases against you based on violation of our Tax Code," he said.
