MANILA, Dec. 1 -- The Bureau of Customs (BOC) on Monday reported the recent interception of high-grade marijuana, or "kush", with an estimated value of PHP14.9 million at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 in Pasay City.
In a statement, District Collector of NAIA, lawyer Yasmin Mapa, said the interdiction operation conducted on Nov. 28 resulted in the seizure of a luggage with 18 vacuum-sealed transparent pouches containing approximately 9,940 grams of dried leaves suspected to be kush.
The operation was conducted together with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and other partner agencies, in line with the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to intensify the campaign against illicit drugs.
