Manila, Oct. 22 -- A total of 9,451 applicants have passed as rookie patrol officers of the Philippine National Police (PNP) in the 2019 regular recruitment program to fill the annual 10,000 vacancies for police recruits.

PNP Officer-in-Charge, Lt. Gen. Archie Francisco Gamboa, said from a pool of 38,357 applicants for Patrolman processed by the Police Regional Offices and National Support Units this year, a total of 9,451 remained after the rigorous selection process that evaluated the overall fitness of every candidate according to the minimum standards set by the PNP.
