MANILA, April 28 -- Over 216,000 local and overseas job vacancies in some of the country's top companies will be featured on the 123rd Labor Day Nationwide Job Fairs to be held on May 1, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) said on Monday.

In a statement, DOLE Secretary Bienvenido Laguesma said some 216,144 employment opportunities, including 181,933 local vacancies and 34,211 overseas jobs, are up for grabs from 2,281 participating employers in the 69 job fair sites all over the country.

He said the initiative with the private sector to bring thousands of local and overseas opportunities to Filipino job seekers reaffirms DOLE's "dedication to connecting available talent with opportunities in the labor market."
