Manila, Feb. 6 -- A total of 2,677 police personnel from the Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO6) and national support units (NSUs) took oath as they were promoted to the next higher rank during a ceremony at Camp Martin Delgado here Thursday.

Among those promoted were 2,562 organic officers from PRO6 and 115 personnel from NSUs.

Leading the list were 17 newly promoted lieutenants and eight captains from the regional office, and 16 lieutenants and 11 captains from NSUs.

Brig. Gen. Jack Wanky, in his message, enjoined the newly-promoted personnel to be at the forefront in bringing the PRO6 on TOP (Technology-Oriented Policing), the new strategic direction of the regional office.
