Manila, Nov. 10 -- Around 197,000 customers of the Manila Electric Company (Meralco) remained without power as of 10 a.m. Monday following the onslaught of Typhoon Uwan (international name Fung-wong), with full restoration expected by Wednesday.
Joe Zaldarriaga, Meralco Vice President and Head of Corporate Communications, in a briefing, said they are working with local governments and other government agencies in the affected areas for the immediate return of power services, and ensured that services are available for critical facilities such as hospitals, transportation system, and government offices.
