Manila, Feb. 9 -- The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) distributed 14,363 family food packs in Caraga Region (Region 13) over the weekend to communities affected by Tropical Storm Basyang.
DSWD-13 said in a statement on Monday the relief goods were delivered to Surigao del Sur towns-Carmen (3,127 packs), Cagwait (2,531), Tago (3,000), and Cortes (5,026)-and to two barangays in Surigao del Norte.
"This ongoing response reflects DSWD's steadfast commitment to ensuring that no family is left behind during times of crisis," the agency said.
Meanwhile, clearing operations continue on roads and bridges damaged by landslides.
