Manila, March 11 -- Around 1,540 barangay health workers (BHWs) across Siargao Island have received their honorariums for December 2024 to February 2025, the Surigao del Norte provincial government announced Tuesday.
In a statement, the provincial government said the BHWs got PHP1,000 each for December 2024 and an increased amount of PHP1,500 each for January and February 2025.
"The increase in the honorarium starting January this year is a recognition of their dedication to service," the provincial government said.
The release of the honorariums on Monday was led by Governor Robert Lyndon Barbers, who expressed gratitude to the BHWs for their contributions to the island's communities.
