MANILA, Feb. 21 -- The Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity (OPAPRU) and the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) are planning to bring digital connectivity to conflict-affected areas and conflict-vulnerable areas.
In a statement Friday, OPAPRU said with this initiative, Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. and DICT Secretary Ivan Uy aim to turn technology into a tool for peace and progress.
This came into being following a meeting between the two secretaries last Feb. 18 where plans were discussed to bridge technology-related gaps in peace and development areas throughout the country.
