Manila, Jan. 16 -- Deputy Speaker and National Unity Party (NUP) chairman Ronaldo Puno on Friday rejected any move to impeach President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., with party leaders saying they see no constitutional or factual grounds to support such a complaint.
"I was asked a question about whether or not the NUP was going to support an impeachment complaint against President Marcos and my answer was definitely obviously no," Puno said in a media conference.
Puno said they have been discussing the issue internally, even as critics floated the idea of an impeachment complaint, and their conclusion was clear.
