Manila, July 28 -- Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Nicolas Torre III on Monday said they have yet to detect threats that could disrupt President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. 's State of the Nation Address (SONA).

"There are no threats (so far), we are hoping for the best but prepared for the worst," he said in a media briefing.

Torre said over 16,000 policemen and 3,000 force augmentation from the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, and Bureau of Fire Protection were deployed across the National Capital Region to ensure the peace and order in connection to the SONA.
