MANILA, May 14 -- The Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Wednesday said the June 11 deadline for the filing of Statements of Contributions and Expenditures (SOCEs) of candidates in the May 12 midterm elections will not be extended.
According to Comelec spokesperson John Rex Laudiangco, national and local candidates, as well as political parties and party-list organizations, have until the middle of next month to submit their SOCEs, which is required under Republic Act (RA) No. 7166.
"They need to file their SOCEs within 30 days after the elections, or until June 11. There will be no extensions," he said in a press briefing at the Tent City of the Manila Hotel, where the national votes are being canvassed by the Comelec en banc sitting...
