Manila, June 4 -- Minimum wage earners should not bear any additional cost as they access the National Food Authority's (NFA) PHP20 per kilogram "high quality" rice under the "Benteng Bigas Meron (BBM) Na" in line with the directives of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.
The Department of Agriculture (DA) made the assurance on Wednesday as the Food Terminal Inc. (FTI) and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-identified companies are expected to sign a memorandum of agreement (MOA) for the BBM Na program.
In a press conference, DA spokesperson Assistant Secretary Arnel de Mesa said under the proposed deal, FTI's partner companies will shoulder the logistics cost.
