Manila, Nov. 6 -- The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) 11 (Davao Region) reaffirmed its commitment to empowering farmers and strengthening irrigation communities during the 14th Irrigators' Associations Congress here on Wednesday.

The event, running until Nov. 6, gathered more than 350 participants, including farmer-beneficiaries and representatives of partner agencies.

In his speech, NIA Administrator Eduardo Eddie Guillen emphasized the participatory foundation of NIA's work.

"We discussed various issues and listened to the farmers' suggestions. It's important to revisit the core principle of NIA, which always promotes a participatory approach," he said.
