DUMAGUETE CITY, Dec. 2 -- The National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) continues to upgrade its power lines in Negros Oriental to ensure a sturdier, more reliable electricity supply, an official said Tuesday.
This came as Michelle Visera of NGCP-Visayas said in an interview that a 12-hour power outage is scheduled for Sunday to facilitate preventive maintenance and pole replacements in areas served by the Amlan-Siaton 69 kilovolt (kV) line.
Several areas served by the Negros Oriental II Electric Cooperative (NORECO II), which is powered by this transmission line, will experience a power outage from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
"This (upgrading) will further ensure power stability, as well as the reliability of the structure," Visera said.
