DUMAGUETE CITY, Dec. 15 -- Metro Dumaguete Water is implementing sustainable projects to improve water supply and quality in this capital, including a new pumping station adding 3 million liters daily.
MDW information officer Katrin Arcala said Monday the firm inaugurated its 22nd pumping station in Barangay Talay this year, benefiting around 3,000 households.
"We can augment the water supply here by some three million liters per day," Arcala said, adding this will increase the firm's average production.
The company also upgraded six existing stations, constructed its first pipe bridge to protect pipeline integrity during floods, and installed about 2,000 meters of transmission pipelines.
