Manila, April 22 -- President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has chosen National Police Commission (Napolcom) commissioner Rafael Calinisan as the body's new Vice Chairperson and Executive Officer (VCEO).

Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin confirmed Calinisan's appointment to Palace reporters on Tuesday.

Calinisan was appointed Napolcom commissioner in November 2024.

Before joining the commission, Calinisan served as chief of the Quezon City People's Law Enforcement Board for four years. He finished his law degree at the Ateneo de Manila University and Masters of Laws at the University of Pennsylvania in the United States.

In a social media post, the Napolcom congratulated Calinisan on his appointment.
