Manila, March 28 -- Abdulraof Macacua formally assumed leadership of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) on Thursday during a historic transition ceremony marking both the 11th anniversary of the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB) and the peaceful transfer of power in the region.

The oath-taking ceremony at the Shariff Kabunsuan Cultural Center saw outgoing Chief Minister Ahod Balawag Ebrahim symbolically passing the leadership through Senior Minister Abunawas Maslamama, who delivered Ebrahim's message of continued commitment to the peace process.
