BACOLOD CITY, Dec. 18 -- The management of Negros Occidental District Jail-Male Dormitory (NODJ-MD) based in Bago City dismissed the allegation of abuses to persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) and visitors claimed by Kabataan party-list Rep. Renee Co in a privilege speech on Dec. 15.
In a statement released on Thursday, the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology-Negros Island Region (BJMP-NIR) said that NODJ-MD warden Supt. Crysrel Awe submitted an explanation based on the directive of regional director Chief Supt. Brendan Fulgencio to respond to the issues raised against his management, "as part of an ongoing investigation."
