Manila, July 10 -- The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) on Thursday said it is validating reports of a fatality in the National Capital Region (NCR) due to the effects of the southwest monsoon (habagat) and Typhoon Bising.
The disaster response body, in its latest report, said the number of affected families has climbed to 32,606 or 103,274 persons residing in 61 barangays in NCR, Regions 1, (Ilocos Region), 3 (Central Luzon) and the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR).
Media reports said a one-year-old girl died after being swept away by floods during evacuation in Las Pinas City on Tuesday night. No other details are available as of this time.
