MANILA, Sept. 12 -- The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) on Friday went into full alert status for possible demonstrations of groups over anomalous flood control projects.
"The full alert status is effective at 3 p.m. Friday," NCRPO chief Maj. Gen. Anthony Aberin told reporters in a text message on Friday.
Aberin said his personnel will observe maximum tolerance during the demonstrations and will uphold the rule of law.
"We respect and uphold the constitutional right of every Filipino to assemble and express their views. At the same time, we remind everyone that these freedoms must be carried out peacefully and responsibly, without endangering public safety or disrupting community life," he said.
