Manila, Feb. 4 -- The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) arrested a total of 1,167 drug suspects and seized around PHP113 million worth of illegal drugs in January.

NCRPO chief Maj. Gen. Anthony Aberin said Wednesday that 888 anti-illegal operations were carried out by the various police districts in Metro Manila during the month.

"These successful operations reflect sustained pressure against illegal drug distribution networks operating within the region," Aberin said in a statement.

The NCRPO also arrested 1,334 individuals with standing warrants of arrest during the same period, including 489 classified as "most wanted persons."
